The most recent figures from Source for Talking to, together with Advanced Business Solutions, reveal that almost two in three (62%) of employees in United kingdom mid-market companies need to see greater purchase of mobile technology to improve their productivity.

The report, which required reactions from 160 mid-market United kingdom organisations in This summer 2014, discovered that worker interest in smartphone and tablet use of back-office systems isn’t fully being met:

  • 56% of those polled said they would like to submit holiday requests via their smartphones, but only 23% can do so
  • 50% said they wanted to report absences using a mobile device, but only 21% can
  • 44% of respondents want to approve expenses on the move, with only 22% able to

“We believe the outcome of social and mobile technologies around the back-office is just set to improve, using the current use of these technologies by HR, finance also it only itching the top of what’s possible,” stated Simon Fowler, Advanced Business Solutions controlling director, within the report.

19% of participants within the report described themselves as ‘no mobile’, with 38% ‘medium mobile’ and 44% ‘high mobile’.
