Asterisks are serious business. It seems that LastPass was hit having a trademark suit about its emblem this past year (personal theory: maybe from Asterisk.org?), forcing it to alter its brand’s identity. The asterisk needed to go so the organization checked out the visual interface of password fields and saw that dots were the norm for hiding passwords, not asterisks.

This is where the brand new emblem was created from. The signature red colorization remains, the black/red emblem can also be alive, and also the font seems to become unchanged. The only real difference would be that the 4 asterisks have switched to 3 dots and something vertical bar – the second is not described by LastPass. I view it as both a cursor and also the finish of the password problems, because LastPass, geddit?

It isn’t the entire emblem that’s confusing though, it is the small one which can look around the browser extension and various apps. Leave behind the large white-colored asterisk within the red box and hello towards the dots and bar, alone. That’s certain to be redundant inside any password text entry box you’ll stumble upon. In addition it will not be simple to place or find in a rush. However, it is a new emblem!

LastPass’s Android application has not been up-to-date using the new emblem yet and LastPass states that it could take a few several weeks its its software programs to determine the modification. That’ll provide you with lots of time to prepare yourself.
